EU AI Act enforcement starts August 2, 2026.

Article 12 requires automatic event recording for general-purpose AI systems. Annex IV requires technical documentation maintained throughout the system's lifecycle. Penalties reach €35M or 7% of global turnover. Today most agent stacks have no signed identity, no hash-chained audit, no offline-verifiable evidence trail.
