A
- AAMC
- Adjudication and Auto-Modification Council — Ainfera's v1.1 deliberation system. 5 frontier Voters (Claude Opus 4.7, GPT-5.5, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Grok 4, Mistral Large 3) × 5 Lenses (Safety, Reliability, Quality, Performance, Reputation). Quorums: 3-of-5 advisory, 4-of-5 binding, 5-of-5 + Council for self-modification.
- Agent L1
- An autonomous software actor that runs Inferences on Ainfera. Every Agent holds an Agent Card and acts under a Tenant. Concept page →
- Agent Card L1
- A signed identity credential minted for an Agent. Proves that an Inference request genuinely originates from a known Agent. Concept page →
- Annex IV L5
- The EU AI Act technical-documentation annex. Ainfera emits Annex IV-compatible documentation so customers building regulated systems inherit it.
- ATS
- Agent Trust Spec v1.0 — Ainfera's open specification for verifiable Agent identity and signed Inference.
- Audit Chain L4
- The hash-chained sequence of AuditEvents for an Agent. Each event references the previous event's hash, making the log tamper-evident and verifiable offline. Concept page →
- AuditEvent L4
- A single signed record in the Audit Chain — for example inference.requested or ledger.debited. Carries an event_hash and previous_hash.
- Auditor L4
- A stakeholder role with read access to an Agent's Audit Chain for verification. Can replay the hash chain without trusting Ainfera.
- Aule
- Internal code-and-repo automation agent. Runs on the Claude Agent SDK runtime and drives daily PR triage, code review, and dependency scans across the ainfera-ai org.

- Debit L3
- A deduction from a Wallet recorded against a specific Inference. Every debit produces a Receipt.

- Governance L5
- Layer 5 of the Ainfera architecture. Article 12 event recording and Annex IV-compatible documentation, available by default.
H
- Hash Chain L4
- A cryptographic linking of AuditEvents where each event embeds the hash of its predecessor. Breaking any link is detectable.
- hermes-agent
- The NousResearch agent framework. Ainfera's Hermes Pool is a curated landing for builders already using hermes-agent.
I
- Identity L1
- Layer 1 of the Ainfera architecture. Every Agent receives a signed Agent Card so every Inference is provably attributable.
- Inference L2
- A single model call routed through Ainfera — signed by the Agent Card, settled from a Wallet, and recorded as AuditEvents. Concept page →
- Infrastructure
- What Ainfera is: the infrastructure layer beneath agents. Not a marketplace and not the regulated AI system itself.

- L1 Identity L1
- The identity layer. Agent Cards, signing keys, and verifiable Agent identity.
- L2 Routing L2
- The routing layer. One API call resolved to the right Provider and Model under a Tenant's policy.
- L3 Settlement L3
- The settlement layer. Wallet balances, per-Inference debits, signed Receipts, and spend policies.
- L4 Audit L4
- The audit layer. Hash-chained AuditEvents that an Auditor can verify offline.
- L5 Governance L5
- The governance layer. Regulatory event recording and technical documentation output.
M
- Manwe
- Ainfera's founder agent — the founder's personal AI brain, running in production on Ainfera. Not an Ainfera product.
- Model L2
- A specific inference model offered by a Provider, e.g. claude-opus-4-7. A Tenant's spend policy can restrict allowed Models.
N
- Namo
- An internal Ainfera agent. Not public-facing; listed in the Ontology for completeness.
O
- Ontology
- Ainfera's canonical vocabulary — the entities, layers, roles, and relationships that name every surface of the product. Published as v1.0 under CC-BY 4.0.
P
- Provider L2
- An upstream inference vendor Ainfera routes to. A stakeholder role; Inferences name the Provider that served them.
R
- Receipt L3
- A signed record of a Wallet debit for a specific Inference. Publicly addressable and independently verifiable.
- Routing L2
- Layer 2 of the Ainfera architecture. Resolving one API call to the right Provider and Model.
S
- Settlement L3
- Layer 3 of the Ainfera architecture. Moving value from a Wallet against each Inference and issuing Receipts.
- Spend Policy L3
- A Tenant-defined rule set on an Agent: per-call cap, daily cap, allowed Providers, allowed Models. Inferences that violate it are blocked.
T
- Tenant
- The account that owns Agents, Wallets, and Audit Chains on Ainfera. The billing and ownership boundary.
- Tulkas
- Internal red-team agent. Framework-agnostic, runs an hourly drain-attempt cron against a sacrificial Wallet to prove L3 cap enforcement live in the public Audit Chain. AgentCard public, runtime private.

- Varda
- Ainfera's AI co-founder agent — runs in production on Ainfera, signing and auditing every Inference like any Tenant.
W
- Wallet L3
- A Tenant's balance on Ainfera. Inferences debit the Wallet; each debit emits a Receipt and an AuditEvent. Concept page →
Y
- Yavanna
- Ainfera's customer and community agent. Public-facing; its live audit feed comes online D14+.
